Last month we reported that Velosophy, a large, high end bike store in the Fox Studios Entertainment Quarter in Sydney had closed, owing over $500,000.
Now a new bicycle business has taken over the premises. The Lab at EQ will be owned by Liam Kelly and managed by Ben Elliot.
The store will have a different focus to Velosophy. There will be less space devoted to bicycle retail and more to services. Upstairs will focus upon cycle fitting and training. Downstairs will include a full café, expanded workshop and smaller area for bicycle retail.
Meanwhile, as reported in the 99 Bikes story, the previous Bike Lab store site in Oxford St Bondi Junction is being taken over by 99 Bikes.
But Liam will continue to run a second store, immediately next door to 99 Bikes, called Bondi Boards and Bikes, on the corner of Oxford Street and Nelson Street.
