After 10 years since founding Richmond Cyclery in the inner eastern Melbourne suburb of Richmond, Grant Rice says he’s ready to try something outside the bike industry.
Before starting his own store, Grant worked at Fitzroy Cycles, back when Bill Hockings still owned his original store at Fitzroy, which has since moved to Carnegie.
But Grant’s involvement in cycling is still remembered by many for his international racing career that included 10th place at the Barcelona Olympics Road Race in 1992 and 4th place in the Commonwealth Games road race two years later.
Grant is currently selling down his stock to make a clean transition to the new owners, who cannot be named until the transaction is finalised.
Look out for more information in a future issue of Bicycling Trade.
